the video explainer - a video every business must have

Use this powerful video to connect, engage and increase leads to your business

why having a video explainer video is a must

If you’re going to invest in one video and one video only, it should be an explainer video. Homepage explainer videos are like online employees that can work for us 24/7. They take advantage of the fact that people do research online before making a purchase. Here a list of why having a video explainer video is important:

  1. Video explainer videos quickly engage viewer, making them more likely to stay on your website
  2. Video explainers connect to the viewer's pain and shows you can help them
  3. Vide explainers are  super valuable and can be used over and over

Now that we know video explainer videos are valuable, how do we make one? Well, it all starts with a video script. Once you agree on the script, shooting the video is much easier especially for those shy in front of the camera. I’ve created a short Video Explainer script template for you to download.

Video Explainer Works

Before we get to the script, we should aim for following in our Explainer Video:

  • High quality - This will be the first interaction with your audience so remember to keep your video quality high (i.e lighting, sound & picture).
  • Clarity - You must avoid the urge to use industry jargon and complicated language. Your words should be easy for a grade school student to understand.
  • Customer Centered - The explainer video should be from the customer's point of view. Spend more time speaking of customer benefits rather than product features.

Disclaimer:

It’s hard to make a script if you don’t know who your target audience is. Otherwise, you can waste time making an explainer video that doesn’t properly address your customer’s needs. If you need help finding your target audience, check out this resource.
